When it came to our re-mortgage, it was good to be able to talk face to face with someone as knowledgeable and experienced as Hugh. He has access to a wide variety of up-to-the-minute financial products and was able to quickly find suitable options for us. We came to Hugh originally for a new fixed mortgage, but ended up moving before the new fix came into effect. Hugh found us a great product for our new property, timing the application perfectly within the trough of the interest rates before they started climbing again, and even found us an interim mortgage with no ERCs to minimise our expenditure between our previous and new fix.Hugh was absolutely brilliant from start to finish; he gave us clear, honest and sound advice, and demonstrated extensive knowledgeable of the market - I wouldn’t hesitate to use Hugh’s services again and I absolutely recommend him to anyone.

Hugh completed another mortgage for me today. I have known Hugh professionally for 20 years now. Hugh has an excellent knowledge of all the mortgage products out there, and which product would best suit an individual client's needs. As all mortgage providers each have their own conditions and criteria to meet, Hugh is particularly skilful at finding ways to overcome any unforeseen hurdles, or switching to a different provider that best caters for your own personal circumstances. Hugh's communication skills are excellent, always keeping you up-to-date on the progress of your mortgage, and what needs to be done. Hugh is also very honest. With some financial advisors you get the feeling that they are always trying to sell you something, but Hugh will often advise you not to buy if he feels it's in your own best financial interest. Whatever your financial needs - first time buyer, buy-to-let investor, equity release customer - I can strongly recommend Hugh to give you the best impartial advice.

Excellent, honest & friendly advice from Hugh throughout our mortgage application.I’ve previously gone direct to banks/building societies but given the current market conditions I thought I’d speak to a broker. Having considered a number of brokers and their associated fees I decided to instruct Hugh. I felt his fee was reasonable & fair for my circumstances and he is clearly an expert in his field as he knew various lenders policies well. He was able to use his experience to help me select the best option for our situation. I can't recommend Hugh and Montahue Financial highly enough. Without Hugh, we couldn't have bought our property in this current climate.As first-time buyers we weren't sure if we needed a mortgage advisor or how the process even works, but if you are wondering the same, let me help you decide: call and hire Hugh.Just to give an example, when we started looking for properties every agent out there tried to convince us to switch over to their mortgages. As soon as we found our house the same agents were trying to tell us we can't buy from another agent because we'd committed to their mortgages (even though we haven't committed and explicitly told them we are not interested).Having Hugh's impartial advice during this process was so important that, he helped us every step of the way and went above and beyond his duties.Honestly, he is worth his weight in gold.
